His wife, Leticia Cruz Vasquez, relied on video calls with relatives to say her final goodbyes to her comatose husband, whose last communication with her was a text sent during the chaos of the raid: "Don't worry, I'm hiding." His body has since been returned to his family in Mexico, marking the first time they had seen him in 17 years, since his last visit for his daughter's quinceañera. The family of Jaime Alanis Garcia has filed a claim against the US government seeking $47 million in damages for each of García's heirs alleging that his civil rights where violated.

According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, federal agents arrested 361 alleged undocumented immigrants during the operation, the largest immigration enforcement operation under the Trump administration and the largest in CA history. Outside the facility, protesters made up of local organizers and anxious family members of the farmworkers, gathered and clashed with federal agents throughout the day resulting in several arrests.

Alanis Garcia died as a direct result of this reckless operation, causing panic and chaos that left him with no viable option but to place himself in a perilous situation, a decision born of fear that ultimately cost him his life.
